1/22/11 Blessed Sac EMASS Show

The competition season has begun!  The kids had a great time at the first show of the season.

The first EMASS show was hosted by Blessed Sac at the Salem, MA. High School.  The journey was an interesting one as some of us ended up going Rt 128 and others of us ended up on Route 1. Some of the kids even witnessed Medflight landing on the expressway after a tragic accident.  Our positive thoughts and prayers go out to those who were involved.  In the end though, everyone arrived with plenty of time to touch up makeup and relax before the competitions began.

Some practice photos the week before the competition:

The Cadet Girls earned second place and the B Guard earned third.  Everyone is looking forward to their next competition this Saturday in Salem N.H. hosted by
Salem Blue!

Adopt - a- Soldier Sgt. Patrick Murphy

The Girls got together and decided to adopt their old friend Sgt. Patrick Murphy.  They first met Sgt. Murphy at the Braintree Armory where they have been practicing for quite a few years.  Sgt. Murphy and his men were deployed in the Spring and since that time the parents and girls have missed him.

Through the efforts of Sue O'Neil, parent volunteer and Sunshine Committee Chairperson and Teri Preble, PR and Community Liaison, the girls were able to send cards, letters and gifts to Sgt. Murphy and the men and women who are stationed with him.

The girls received a nice letter back from Sgt. Murphy thanking them all for their cards, letter and gifts.

We're all hoping you come home soon Sgt. Murphy and all our troops that have been sent overseas.  Please stay well.

Stockholder's Restaurant Donates $500

On Nov, 27th, Kevin Hynes, the owner of Stockholder's Restaurant, 1073 Main Street, South Weymouth, presented the All Saints Color Guard teams with a donation of $500 to purchase a new competition mat.

Mr Hynes quickly responded to the team’s need with a wholehearted “YES!!!” after hearing they were in desperate need of a new mat in order to compete in their upcoming season starting in January.

The All Saints girls visited Mr. Hynes at his restaurant, Stockholder's, to receive the gift and have their pictures taken with Mr. Hynes. We can’t thank him enough for his generosity and support.  We all enjoyed meeting him and many of us have enjoyed dining at his restaurant!

THANK YOU MR. HYNES!!!!

Community Spirit Mini Grant Received from Harvard Pilgrim!!

For the second time, Harvard Pilgrim has blessed us with the Community Spirit 9/11 Mini-Grant!!  We can't thank them enough for their nomination, generosity and support.  Thank you!

About the Community Spirit 9/11 Mini-Grants Program:

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care created it to commemorate the first anniversary of September 11, 2001 through a special contribution to its Foundation. The Foundation administers this special fund and distributes the Mini-Grants to non-profit organizations that Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Health Plans Inc. and Dell Perot employees nominate.

Since 2002, hundreds of Harvard Pilgrim, Health Plans Inc. and Dell Perot employees have had their Mini-Grants approved -- benefiting schools, social service, and cultural and other community-based organizations where our employees live and work. Just last year, we distributed more than $370,000 in Mini-Grants throughout Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

"Through your efforts, and in partnership with our employees, we continue the strong spirit of community service that respects the memory of those lost on September 11th. We wish you every success in all your programming efforts!"
